AudioRoundTable.com received several complaints about various posts made in the past few weeks which were ultimately deleted. The contents of the posts were controversial in the eyes of some, but in our opinion, they were all of a technical nature and did not break any rules. The complaints were that the posts were unflattering and cast certain products in a bad light. We deleted them in a spirit of comity, and hope we did not offend anyone by doing so. The downside is some valuable information went with them, in an effort to make a handful of people more comfortable. There is always going to be a balance between censorship and free speech, between making the most people comfortable verses giving the most people a voice to express themselves.

Ironically, those that complained loudest about the posts in question have launched a smear campaign against ART and some of its regular members. The ones that expressed discomfort by having the posts here are now complaining about the fact they were removed, saying it was some type of subterfuge. They have resorted to the worst kinds of character assassination, all the while crying about what amounted to nothing more than critical analysis. Instead of arguing the facts, they've resorted to innuendo and personal attacks. Nonetheless, it is our hope that by deleting the controversial content here, we make our little corner of the internet a better place. We can't do anything about what happens elsewhere, but we can clean our own back yards.

All of us here at AudioRoundTable.com want to express our appreciation for everyone's participation. If one of your posts was deleted recently, please accept our apology and do not take this necessarily to mean we do not approve of your comments, either in style or in substance. The posts that were deleted yesterday were removed mostly to de-escalate a crescendo of bad feelings that may or may not have been warranted. Again, there is a balance we must try to strike between communiqué and comfort. Thank you for your understanding.
