Well the 16-ohm woofers ended up measuring pretty good but not sounding as good as some 8-ohm woofers I had on hand, so the Stormbringer project changed gears and will emerge as an 8-ohm speaker. I did manage to keep the impedance between 8 and 13 ohms above the bass impedance peaks, which makes them a fairly easy load.
The Jazz Modules went more smoothly, and above the bass peaks the impedance stays between 8 and 12 ohms. Both speakers are roughly 92 dB efficient.
Both speakers went through several compression drivers before I found one that did what I wanted. It's more expensive than I'd hoped, but that's okay I just moved the goalposts a bit.
Well I finalized the crossover designs about 5:00 this morning, so I should have enough time before leaving for the Denver show for the parts I ordered today to arrive so that I can get both pairs wired up and completed. Whew.
