I've also found that some tube amps sound much better driving a 16 ohm load than a 4 or 8 ohm load. Some time ago I built some speakers for my parents that could be configured as either 4 or 16 ohms, and on their little JoLida integrated the best sound was the 16 ohm configuration on the 8 ohm taps.

Didn't realize Transcendent offered an OTL kit for such a reasonable price. Very nice.

The 16-ohm Stormbringers will be in room 9002 driven by Ralph Karsten's OTL amps, and the 8-ohm Jazz Modules will be in room 1100 driven by a 5 watt SET made by NTV Amplifiers. This will be their audio show debut - they're a New Orleans based company that got slowed down by bad weather last year.
